After going to to the forum that the engineers read ( http://illustrator.uservoice.com ) and posting the issues, I received a call from one of the engineers. He connected to my computer and we were able replicate the issues (freezing when opening graphic styles from the icon menu on the side, or getting the message that there is not enough memory to render the object when using the dropdown menu to open graphic styles). He agreed it is a bug in the program and that they would work to resolve it. In the meantime, I will not open graphic styles when using v23. If I need graphic styles I will use v22. Thank you, Adobe engineers. We look forward to the fix!

Hi, Jeff. I wanted the complete font set version I had on Suitcase, not the Adobe Typekit font version. I figured out how to delete the Adobe Typekit version so all is well. I just don't know how the Typekit versions got on in the first place.

Hi, Monika. Other than contacting the engineers on the user voice link which I just did (thank you again for the link), I am not doing another thing until they answer. Thousands may not have the issue. But I am seeing enough threads and emails to know there is an issue. We have narrowed it down on my computer to graphic styles. Others noted the same issue with graphic styles. I am an old computer programmer. Logic tells me that if the old version works with the same graphic styles, something in the new version is causing an issue with graphic styles. I can't go in the back end, so until the engineers from Adobe tell me exactly what that issue is, I am not turning things on and off. I have too many projects that have immediate deadlines. I will work with v22. That version doesn't crash.

Hi, Monica. I not only gave them my exact specs, Adobe contacted me twice to look into the issue and connected with my computer. We replicated the software freezing when the graphic styles are opened. With 32 megabytes of ram and a 2 terabyte hard drive on a 2017 iMac with the last version of Sierra, it should not be an issue. Also, graphic styles are causing the same issue in Illustrator on for other users . I found issues in a number of threads noting the same issue. It does not happen on earlier versions of Illustrator, so it is a bug in this version. Thank you for the user voice link. Hi, Marcelo. Keeping the issue alive is wise. I have not heard from them since the techs connected and I sent them logs. I assume they are working on the issue. I have found that if I do not open graphic styles I have no problem. I also downloaded and reinstalled version 22. That version has no issues with graphic styles, so this is the version I use when I know I need graphic styles. Hopefully they will figure out the issue and fix version 23 soon. Regards, Mary

I don't know about mnvital1979 , but Adobe techs have connected to my computer twice. I have sent them crash logs. I have answered all of the same questions that you have asked and have done the things you suggest. With 2 terabyte hard drive and 32 Megabytes of ram, and even with nothing else running other than Suitcase to manage fonts it still crashes. As others have stated, it seems to happen the moment one opens the graphic styles. A number of folks have the same issue. This never happened in earlier versions. So it does need to be fixed. My only work around is to do my projects in the previous version that does work. Even with multiple programs running.

The problem is that "Adobe Typekit" shows up in Suitcase with activated fonts. I don't know how to get rid of it since it shows up locked.

I use Extensis Suitcase to manage my fonts on a 2017 iMac with Sierra OS. I have the latest creative cloud on my iMac. I own complete families of Roboto and Source Sans Pro. For some reason, Adobe Typekit has put fragmented families of those two fonts in my system. Only the incomplete Adobe Typekit version of Source Sans Pro and Roboto are showing up even though I have the purchased font families activated. So Adobe's Typekit fonts are making my complete font families inaccessible. That makes it impossible for me to work which needs the complete font families of the two fonts mentioned. Adobe Typekit fonts show up in Suitcase as locked, so I cannot deactivate or delete them. I did not have this problem with this a few days ago when I worked on the same file. There were no Adobe Typekit versions of the fonts in my system. I need to know two things: How do I unlock and delete or deactivate the Typekit versions of the fonts? How would I add the complete font family to the Typekit version if I chose to do so? Please help me resolve this issue so I can complete projects on deadline. Thank you.

Hi, Ashutosh. Thank you for responding to the issue. I chatted with Adobe last night (ADB-4515680-P0G2) and shared my computer. I did send the logs that were created to sharewithai@Adobe via Hightail as they are too large to send via regular email. Hopefully Adobe will solve this problem, not just for me, but for my fellow designers who are experiencing the same issues.

I am having the same issues with Adobe Illustrator 23.0.1. First I get the message that there is not enough memory to render the object. Then it crashes. I am on a 2017 iMac with 2 terabyte hard drive and 32GB Ram. I treed opening a new file and placing a simple shape. Same message and a crash. I tried closing every other application but had the same issues. I uninstalled. I reinstalled. It worked for less than an hour. Then it ran out of memory again. And crashed. I reinstalled the previous version and will work in that version until Adobe fixes v23.0.1.

Hi, Jane. Thank you for replying. I had tried 5 times and had someone watch me. Held those keys for a long time waiting to see if the dialog box would appear, but it did not. So I called Adobe. I just got off the phone with Adobe technical support. The customer service rep fixed it manually similar to what the steps some people indicated earlier in the thread. She renamed both the Library folders in Cache and Adobe Indesign by adding a .old. Then restarted and it worked.

I have done these steps but no dialog appears allowing me to delete preferences. Hold down Cmd+Ctrl+Opt+Shift first Then click the icon in your dock From the shortcut menu, choose open to launch Am I missing something? I end up right in the window where you open a new or recent project, but do not see a dialog asking if I want to delete preferences. I had also tried the manual method and that did not work.
